Terms of Service
The rules of using Laxu Resume.
Last updated: May 6, 2026
The agreement
By using Laxu Resume (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service. The Service is operated by Laxu (“we”, “us”) and reachable at hello@laxuresume.com.
What the Service does
Laxu Resume helps you tailor a resume to a specific job description, generate cover letters, score keyword match, and track applications. The output is a starting point you should review before sending. We don’t guarantee that any specific employer’s applicant tracking system will parse or accept the output, and we don’t guarantee that using the Service will result in interviews or offers.
Honest output, not invention
Our AI prompts are configured to rephrase what you actually did using stronger verbs and JD-relevant keywords — not to invent achievements, metrics, or skills you didn’t list. Despite that, AI output can drift. You are responsible for reviewing every bullet, summary, and cover letter before sending it to an employer. If you spot fabricated content, please tell us — we treat it as a bug.
Your account and your content
You’re responsible for keeping your account secure. The content you upload (resumes, JDs, tracker entries) stays yours. By uploading, you grant us the limited license needed to run the Service on your behalf — store the content, send it to AI providers at request time, generate output, and show it back to you. We don’t use your content to train models. See the Privacy Policy for the full data-handling story.
Acceptable use
Don’t use the Service to:
- Fabricate credentials, employment history, or qualifications you don’t actually have.
- Submit content that violates someone else’s rights (copying another person’s resume verbatim, for example).
- Probe, scrape, automate, or hammer the Service in ways that degrade it for other users. We reserve the right to rate-limit or block usage that crosses this line.
- Resell access to the Service or sublicense it to others.
- Anything illegal under applicable law.
Pricing, plans, and refunds
Free tier: one fully unlocked tailoring per browser, with the full output (score, keywords, bullet rewrites, cover letter, PDF/DOCX export). Paid plans (Single Job Pack, Starter, Pro, Lifetime) are listed on the pricing page. Recurring plans renew until you cancel; cancel from Settings and your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Refunds: if the Service didn’t work the way it should have — failed exports, broken tailoring, charges you didn’t expect — email us within 7 days of the charge and we’ll refund it, no negotiation. Outside that window we handle requests case by case.
Cancellation and account deletion
You can cancel a subscription or delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting the account removes your resumes, tailoring history, tracker entries, and account record from our primary database. Backups age out within 30 days. Stripe retains payment records for as long as required by law.
No warranty
The Service is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep it working, but we don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or guarantee any specific hiring outcome. AI output can be wrong; review before sending.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost interview opportunities or job offers.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice when reasonable. You can stop using the Service and close your account at any time.
Changes to these Terms
If we change anything material, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and email logged-in users. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes go to the state and federal courts located in Delaware, unless applicable consumer-protection law in your country gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
